The Raleigh Ringers, an acclaimed community handbell choir, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in the main performance hall of the Fine and Performing Arts Center on the campus of Western Carolina University.
The Raleigh Ringers, right, play unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music with a varied repertoire that includes Tchaikovsky, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the “Peanuts” theme. Founded in 1990 and under the direction of David M. Harris, the Ringers are based in Raleigh and perform across the United States and abroad. The ensemble has released four CDs and a holiday concert DVD, and in 2007 received a Medal of Arts award from the Raleigh Arts Commission for its contributions to the community through performance.
This event is suitable for children aged 5 and older. Tickets cost $20 for adults (18 years and older); $15 for WCU staff and senior citizens (60 years and older); $5 for students and children; and $10 per person for groups of 15 or more.
